A wonderful collection of, as the title suggests, klezmer songs. The twist here is that all of the songs contained on this CD are derived / directly played from incredibly rare and antique player piano rolls by the one-and-only Bob Berkman, pianola wizzard extraordinaire. Truly unique stuff, and quite a joy to listen to.

One of, if not THE first odd tape I ever found (a good 5 years ago). Traditional christian kids songs sung in a very odd manner, with bad pause-editing that cuts off the beginning of each “track” (I kept the tape unedited to preserve this). Also includes some other, less recorded-in-one-take-on-a-Barbie-karaoke-machine type songs too.

An absolutely beautiful collection of songs from 12th-13th century Europe. Very sparsely orchestrated, with haunting vocals at the center of almost every song.

VERY highly recommended.

(Note: My LP copy of this, as you can see from the picture, is quite beat up. Luckily, however, I found an upload on this blog of the CD version, and I compiled the upload from there into one .rar file to make it a bit easier to download. A big thanks goes out to whoever runs that blog.)

18 minutes, 14 seconds of TERRIFYING (ok, well it’s not that bad, but STILL) german shepherd barks, growls, and snarls by the one-and-only SEBASTIAN VON WILLOW. Apparently designed to keep intruders at bay when homeowners are away, though I have a hard time seeing how this would actually stop anyone.

An interesting listen, for sure.

(This LP was double-A sided, so i only ripped one side of it. FYI.)
