The sum total of the records I gripped at ONE tag sale this past weekend. Especially pumped about the Ashley, Burroughs, La Barbara, Rosenboom & Buchla, and, well, every damn thing..

Hey guys, long time, no see.
I’ve been really busy with graduating / starting Graduate School recently, but I have found some really great stuff over the past year or so that I really feel is worth posting.
Here we have “The Philosophy Of Sound And Machine”, a fantastic British IDM compilation from 1992. Found this lying lonely in the bins and just had to scoop it up. Little did I know at the time just how rare this thing is (see Discogs and Amazon if you don’t believe me), so I was pretty floored once I found out. And to get to what matters, the music is also FUCKING INCREDIBLE. It should go without saying that the AFX-related tracks (Q-Chastic, Soit-PP, Blue Calx) are fantastic, but the B12- and other scene-related bands’ tracks are also top-knotch. Please listen and enjoy this 320kbps rip! Much nicer than the ridiculously low-rate rips floating around.
8-Track Procurement
just scored an old Panasonic 8-track player! expect some saucy uploads when i get this thing up and running
JASMINE - TASCAM BULLSHIT
Hey y’all… sorry for the lack of updates!
Well, I just bought a Tascam digital multitrack recorder for a STEAL at a local goodwill, so awesome… but something was lurking within…
Apparently the person who owned this recorder before me (and gave it away for some reason?) was an aspiring Christian RnB singer, and recorded these six songs.
With songs with lyrics such as “jesus…you pour jewels into my holes”, this isn’t to be missed.
Chris Spheeris - Electric Europe
One of the first albums from this Emmy-award-winning New Age artist, released in 1982. While he is known for his guitar-based compositions, this album is almost completely electronic, sharing many of the same tones and flourishes as his like minded brethren, such as Michael Garrison, later Klaus Schulze or even Giorgio Moroder in certain songs.
A very relaxing and enjoyable listen.
Bell King: The Bell Music Of The Giant Bell Temple
Perfomed by the “Giant Bell Temple Orchestra”, this album of live performances is truly stunning. Beautiful Chinese orchestral music with massive, clangorous metallic bell tones, with some sections almost sounding like some bizarre Test Dept. album caught in a Qing Dynasty time-warp.
RECOMMENDED
p.s.apologies for not posting anything for the past few (read: many) months! i promise to upload more stuff for you guys!!!!
A wonderful collection of, as the title suggests, klezmer songs. The twist here is that all of the songs contained on this CD are derived / directly played from incredibly rare and antique player piano rolls by the one-and-only Bob Berkman, pianola wizzard extraordinaire. Truly unique stuff, and quite a joy to listen to.
